EXHIBITION JAN EVERSEN

EDE (ANP) - During his life, painter Jan Eversen, who died at the age of 89 in 1995, was famous predominantly in Great Britain. At the 100th birthday of Jan Eversen next week, a unique exhibition will open on june 3rd, in Ede, his place of birth.

Eversen was a self-tought painter. During his entire career he tried to reconstruct the techniques of old masters such as Rembrandt, Jan Steen and Paulus Potter. According to experts, he almost completely succeeded in doing so.

Eversen's works are represented among other places, in the National Gallery in London.
