JULIAN MERROW-SMITH

British still life painter Julian Merrow-Smith is one of the most vibrant artists living and working in Europe today. His paintings have been exhibited in Britain, France and the United States and he was selected for both the New Contemporaries exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art and the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery.

Julian Merrow-Smith

An accomplished portrait painter: A short essay on how to commission a portrait or painting, Julian Merrow-Smith regularly exhibits with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in London.

Based in Crillon le Brave: A little about the village of Crillon le Brave, a tiny hill village in the south of France, his luminous paintings of the provençal landscape and his intimate still life paintings of faïence, fruit and bottles are much sought after and are held in numerous private collections worldwide. Julian's strong reputation as a still life painter led, in 2003, to a commission by Cunard. See the still life commissions for Cunards Queen Mary 2 for a series of large-scale still-life paintings and a further three editions of landscape prints for the Queen Mary 2. These striking art-works have led to further painting commissions and to his growing artistic reputation.
