I am a watercolor and oil painter, and I paint still life and figures. I started out painting in watercolor because I had little children, and I learned to love it. However, in the last 10 years I have started painting in oil, and try to switch it up between wc and oil, because I really enjoy both mediums. I almost always paint my flowers in watercolor, but this summer I found some beautiful peonies in Wyoming, and painted a large oil of them. Because I have been painting so many figures in the past few years, it was a refreshing break to do a floral still life.

Suzy Smith has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine, American Artist Magazine, International Artist Magazine, and the Artist's Magazine. Currently she is represented by the Modernism Gallery in San Francisco, CA, and will be having a one woman show there in 2010.
