Vecu likes to tackle themes inspired by cultural traditions, to exploit these traditions in an unconventional way, and to invite the spectator to a double lecture by furnishing his canvases with objects arranged in symbolic compositions, illustrating metaphors, allegories, parabolas and mysteries.
His sources of inspiration come from various beliefs, superstitions, ancient civilisation myths, legends, stories, fables, astrology, alchemy, puns, proverbs, maxims, sayings, quotations and Latin phrases.
